Jim originally joined EYC Companies in 2005 and served as Chief Financial Officer through 2010. After nearly 10 years as CFO and Treasurer with another regional real estate firm, Jim has rejoined EYC Companies as the Chief Operating Officer. He brings over 35 years of commercial mortgage banking, finance, development, accounting, property management and operational management experience to his new role. Jim directs project development, manages investor and lender relations, and oversees the company’s regional operating businesses and portfolio.
Prior to joining EYC Companies in 2005, Jim was a founding Partner of Renaissance Capital, a Commercial Mortgage Banking and Brokerage Firm where Ellis Coleman was one of his largest clients. Jim is a proven financier and salesman and successfully facilitated the sale of three EYC projects in 2009 and 2010 without outside brokerage help.
Jim is a Cum Laude graduate of Old Dominion University with a BSBA in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Jim also holds his North Carolina Broker’s License and was the former Broker in Charge of Aurora Property Resources from 2016 through 2019. Jim is a past Board Member, Treasurer and Executive Committee Member of Rebuilding Together of the Triangle.
